Monday the 25th of February 2019

This morning we started our new term off with Music Business which was alright, Chris asked us how our half terms however that didn’t last long because we then went on to the actual lesson.

We were mean’t to be getting started on our copyright essay, which I have completed, but I’m still getting locked into my mind. But for the majority of the lesson Chris was out of the class sorting everybody else out with other issues.

I also found out this morning I passed my Grade 1 Theory test, but I got some stupid things wrong which I’m going to kick my head in for in the meanwhile here it is:

Afterwards, we had our first rehearsal as a full on band which went surprisingly well! All of our parts locked together perfectly and now all that’s left to work on is the endings of songs along with their structures. I nearly forgot me and Lucy are doing backing vocals which is entertaining but it makes Millie sound ten times more supported and backed up than alone.

Lunch and D.I.S were the most boring things ever, a week off doing entertaining things and spending time with my partner has made me realise this. So all I did was sit back and wait for the two hours to be over, I could have started on another rehearsal diary but I wasn’t in the right mindset to put together that requires a lot of brain power.

At the end of the day we rehearsed again briefly because everyone was shattered it didn’t last awfully long so we all went home, what we primarily worked on was “When Doves Cry” because we had everything down as a band and needed to hear if the vocals were to work as well as the original cover by Lenny Kravitz…

I’ll put some videos on here eventually so you can track our progress as a band and for reference in the coming weeks leading up to our Live Lounge recording and performance at the Ashcroft Arts Center!

Half Term, February 2019

Well, to start off I’ve never been more happier and pleased to how a half term is went in my life before so this is a personal achievement.

It may not seem like I did much academically this time around but I organised and prepared a hell of a lot to get me though the term to come…

I’ve strategically planned out when I’m going to each six of my rehearsal diaries so I don’t lose my mind sat down trying to do six of them consecutively, as that is what happened last term and I will not let it happen again.

Next up would be our Live Lounge Performance, now I’ve been preparing myself vocally and instrumentally just in case the two are needed together… I’m going in this term with the mentality that I’m doing backing vocals and I’m going to be confident and not shy.

Now the comedic relief, I read in the brief that we needed a costume or to dress-up during our audio and live recording so there was a wise investment within this bad boy.

Mind the small amount of chub around my stomach, but apart from that I think it suits me perfectly. When you step back and look at it you think why, I think it’s pretty neat I’ll be wearing it no matter what as it’s a statement either way.

Within preparation for my second stylistic analysis, I put the time aside to watch Purple Rain which was fun. I have watched the film twice now and it was surprisingly good compared to my low expectations going into it.

I have listened to the album 42 times and counting during the half term, yes I counted, purely because it would show how sad I am on this platform!

Hmmm, what else, I spent the majority of my time off with my partner and bullying him mainly because he’s left handed… I’m joking I’d never do such a thing and bully my other half.

Apart from that nothing much happened, I am looking forward for another intense term of hard work at Fareham Music, because last term was utter sewage waste it was so bad and I think everyone can agree with me so……
