Chris made some “sick beats” before class this morning, did I enjoy them? Yes. Did I ask for them on the other hand? No, no I did not. But it got me prepared for another day of thrilling education.
Aural Perception wasn’t really a proper lesson, more or less. We looked at roughly five song and Chris asked us how they made us feel, my most common response was meh but I didn’t actually say that I covered up with a cheeky ” boring”.
The only song that kept me fully engaged was “Squib Cakes” by ‘Tower Of Power’, now that was major fun in comparison to Pearl Jam because they really don’t do much for me but I can listen to them and enjoy it as I have an open mind to new things, especially music.
After that we had rehearsal which was eventful, Lewis was in a particularly good mood which was a bit off putting within comparison to his normal laid back self. As as band we have now gotten down the groove for “When Doves Cry”, we just need to get down the ending which will depend on our vocalist which will be something we need to work on after half term…
In our lesson with Jason, me and Lucy sat together and put together a big document full of resources for the whole band to take a look at over half term about “Purple Rain” which will come in handy. We were mainly fascinated to how we can both edit the document at once and keeping a conversation going over a word document because the rest of the room were working within dead silence which made that hour drag completely.
I prefer to work on my essays and other texts isolated away from everyone else as it helps me to concentrate more and it enables me to hear myself think. When I’m at home that is difficult to do because I live in a house full of younger siblings which is a joy in itself so I spend my evenings late at college working tirelessly!
Lunch time always boring which simultaneously led on to another rehearsal which went well, I am looking forward to next term because our singer should hopefully be back in and our songs will begin to sound whole for once! I also want to give ago at backing vocals by her side, it may go awfully or very well so we shall keep that in mind…
Tutor was alright I guess, this weeks bulletin was about LGBTQ+ I should educate myself more on it but I personally think there is too many aspects too it and I’d get caught up in a million and one small facts about nothing to do with music. I totally respect anyone’s choice to do with sexual preference and gender, because it is your life and you should do anything that makes you truly happy.
