Only a few words can describe how I enjoyed my Friday evening.
Jason kindly went ahead and asked the manager of the pub he was playing in if I was allowed to come and see them.
Considering I am on a Music course I’m trying to become more involved within what is going on around my area. Jason introduced me to the many cover bands he plays within a while back, since then I have kept a close eye on ‘Thee Sultan Sheiks’.
Now you maybe thinking why on God’s green earth would a 16 year old be interested within a cover band, and too be honest with you I don’t actually know.
I’ve gone to the extent of buying a few T-shirts which me and two others now have within our possession which is a great conversation starter, they’re also solid promotion for the band too.
You can watch countless videos on their YouTube channel of live performances and a handful of Christmas Specials which make me laugh.
From my musicians perspective it was impressive on how they fit a five piece band within such a small space which took me by surprise.
They are a very tight band, they had decent chops, quality banter, and a excellent vocal range between them all. Each member had there own personality but an end goal of entertaining the audience which is good to see. I’m not their target audience I’m well aware of and yes I did feel out of place but it was worth it and I’ll be definitely seeing them again in the future.
